At Efford Down Stables our trekking is all off road on our 100 acre farm including “Efford down”. With fantastic views along the coastline, the town and surrounding countryside, our experienced friendly escorts guide you on an enjoyable hack amidst some of Cornwalls most stunning scenery. There is no better way of getting out there and enjoying it than on horseback.

All standards in a group to ride together. Walking and trotting for the whole group, with a option to canter in the open fields for experienced riders.

Suitable for novice to experienced riders. Children(aged five and over, who can go on leading rain)
Adults (weight limit 15 stone, age limit 68).

Efford Down stables is licensed with Cornwall Council, and has remained in the same family ownership since established in 1976.

Our horses

We have a selection of fit and well cared for horses and ponies from 10hh to 15.2hh, so we aim to suit most people.

"Hi. My family, Dan, Sarah, Ewan and James had a trek with yourselves yesterday. My 3 boys/man had never been on horseback before. Maisie, Honey, Redmond and Florence were fabulous for our morning out. they both thought it was amazing especially when they went trotting!!! When asked what their favourite thing in our weeks holiday was they both said riding the horses. The Ladies that accompanied us were amazing, they made the ride both feel enjoyable, safe but most importantly fun especially to those who hadn't ridden before. After a lot of years of not riding your day out with it's fabulous escorts and amazing views has inspired me to take it back up and my family want to carry on.
